TV-Asia Has Fourth New Owner
Troubled London-based satellite service, TV-Asia, has had its fourth change in ownership since its launch in July 1992. The new owner is Zee television group, India’s leading private sector broadcaster ( Zee TV is 50%-owned by Rupert Murdoch, who beams it across India on his Star satellite service).
The new ownership is generally applauded. TV-Asia had pre-tax losses of over £8m in the year to September 1993, and has 70,000 subscribers. Co-operation with BSkyB in this country is predicted.
