Five has become the second UK broadcaster to sign a free on-demand content deal with YouTube.
The new partnership will see YouTube feature more than 3,000 hours of full-length Five programming, in a deal similar to the one signed between the Google-owned video sharing site and Channel 4.
Users will now be able to watch a number of popular Five shows on YouTube, including Neighbours, Home And Away, The Hotel Inspector and The Gadget Show.
YouTube users will also be able to access Five’s free on-demand archive content, which features up to 250 hours of programmes.
Five’s sales team will sell advertising around the YouTube content, which is set to include display and video ads such as pre and mid-roll.
Earlier this week, YouTube launched its first official advertising campaign to promote its new UK shows section on the website with the strapline – “YouTube’s got TV”.
