New Saatchi Gains Dixons
The breakaway agency set up by Maurice Saatchi, New Saatchi, has acquired the business from the electrical retailers, Dixons. New Saatchis beat Saatchi & Saatchi for the business; New Saatchi said the billings had more than doubled with the deal from £40m to £75m.
Most of the creative work will be carried out by the New Saatchi agency; D’Arcy Masius Benton and Bowles will do a small amount of the creative work and will carry out all media buying. The Facilities Group, Saatchi & Saatchi’s sister company will continue production work.
To cope with the new business, New Saatchi is likely to double its staff to about 80 people
