According to reports, Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation is planning a £416m flotation of News Digital Systems (NDS) in the next few weeks. Speaking at the annual general meeting, Mr Murdoch also expected the company to achieve a 20 per cent improvement in profits for 1996-97.
NDS is a UK based television technology business which produces smart cards for pay-per-view broadcasts. The technology is licensed to companies manufacturing set-top boxes.
A News Corp representative was unable to comment on Rupert Murdoch’s speech and said that nothing official has been issued confirming his plans.
