Trinity International, publisher of The Liverpool Daily Post and Daily Echo, is to take over Joseph Woodhead of Huddersfield, with a recommended cash offer of £12.5m.
Woodhead publishes and prints The Huddersfield Daily Examiner, as well as a number of local weekly and monthly titles.
Trinity will fund the acquisition from existing resources. It comes less than a month after Trinity agreed to buy 26 local newspapers of the Argus Press group. (Newsline 19/7)
