The Independent Television Commission has appointed NatWest Markets as its adviser for financial aspects of the award of digital terrestrial multiplex licences. The merchant bank will advise whether, taking account of the ITC’s own assessment of the business plans, each applicant passes the financial sustainability test.
So far, all UK terrestrial TV services have secured places on the new digital service which will launch in 1998 *TV Companies Guarantee Digital Places.
