Caledonian To Float On Stock Exchange
Caledonian Publishing, the Scottish newspaper publishing group, has confirmed that it will be coming to the Stock Exchange next month (see Newsline (14/06)).
It hopes that the move will raise around £100m. Caledonian, which publishes The Herald and Evening Times in Glasgow, will probably use the funds to pay off debts which are believed to be around £60m.
The Herald’s latest circulation figures have shown a steady decline, dropping from 116,000 in 1993 to 106,000.
