According to a report in today’s FT two rival 24-hour weather channels will be launching on cable and satellite in June.
The Weather Network, owned by the Canadian media group Pelmorex will launch its service on 2nd June, whilst the Atlanta-based Weather Channel, owned by Landmark Communications, will begin broadcasting on 30th June.
It is believed that BSkyB, with whom both channels want a deal, will only require one 24-hour weather channel.
