Ad Industry To Vote On Taste And Decency

The Advertising Standards Authority is inviting representatives of the advertising industry to vote on the standards of taste and decency in ads at a seminar to be held next Tuesday. The seminar will also hear the results of a research project into public attitudes regarding these aspects of advertising.

At the event matters such as where the public draw the line on a number of aspects of taste including sexism and stereotyping, the portrayal of children and shock tactics in advertising will be discussed.

The seminar will be held at The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in London from 9.15am to 12.30pm followed by lunch. The fee is £88. For an invitation contact Mandi Hunt on 0171 580 5555.
