Vanessa Show Reprimanded By ITC

In the ITC’s January Complaints Report the Vanessa show was found to ‘publicise promiscuity with no discernible purpose other than sensationalism’. The programme, which featured four individuals talking about their experiences of multi-partner sex, provoked eight viewers to complain that the discussion was unsuitable for broadcast at 2.20 pm.

Overall, the total number of complaints for January was 220: the highest number of complaints related to the broad category of Other Taste and Decency (80). More specifically, Religious Offence and Scheduling provoked 20 complaints each and Violence and Sexual Portrayal 16 each.

In terms of channels, 180 complaints were received concerning ITV, 35 concerning Channel 4 and 5 concerning cable and satellite channels.
