Responses To ITV Licence Renewals

The ITC has published the public responses it received on its draft proposals for the procedure and methodology of renewing ITV channel licences. The Commission received correspondence from 13 respondents all of which are available for inspection at the ITC Library, 33 Foley Street, London, W1P 7LB. The ITC’s regional offices are also holding copies of the documents which include responses from Border Television, GMTV, Granada Media Group, ITV Network Centre and Teletext.

ITV licensees, including GMTV, can apply to have their licences renewed with effect from 1 January 1999, even though existing licences do not expire until 31 December 2002 (subscribers see Channel 3 Licence Renewal).
