71% of smart TV owners in France have connected their sets to the internet, according to Futuresource Consulting.
Futuresource surveyed 4,000 consumers across the US, UK, France and Germany. The company found France had the highest connection rates, while the UK had the lowest rate across the four countries at 56%.
Watching catch-up TV, YouTube videos and streaming films from sites such as LOVEfilm and Netflix were the most popular uses for connected TVs among the respondents. 40% of users also accessed social networks via their connected TV, while 24% used their set to stream music.
The research showed that 62% of viewers had used a second screen while watching TV.
