Ocean Outdoor is launching the first ever “live” digital creative competition today, inviting UK creative talent to compete for the chance to win an advertising campaign worth £250,000.

Creatives submit entries to the competition, and the digital adverts will be posted immediately onto Ocean’s network of digital screens.

The categories for the competition include full-motion, layering, subtle-motion and interactivity.

Judges will be looking for innovations and “ideas that exploit how digital out of home engages with the consumer and delivers greater effectiveness for advertisers”.

The adverts will be judged by a panel of industry experts, as well as the general public. The public vote will be generated from customers passing through Westfield London, who can vote for their favourite on twitter, and other social media networks.

Tim Bleakley, chief executive officer at Ocean Outdoor, said: “Digital OOH is going from strength to strength with £1 in every £8 spent on outdoor being accounted for by digital. It’s a medium with fantastic potential both for advertisers and creatives alike; we are really excited to see how the creative community responds to this competition.”

Craig Morgan, managing martner at Elvis and one of the judges, said: “I’m really looking forward to being involved in such a unique competition. For a creative to see his work immediately in the media environment will really enhance the creative possibilities. I’m sure that it will lead to some exceptional work.”
