The trade press report that the Mirror Group and Carlton Communications are discussing putting together a joint bid for digital terrestrial television licenses. Both companies have worked together before. Last June they submitted an unsuccessful joint bid for the UK live television rights to Premier League football. Carlton has also been linked with CableTel for a digital project (*Carlton To Bid For Digital Services).
Applications for the digital multiplexes must be submitted by 31 January.
