STV bids for two local TV channels

STV has partnered with Glasgow Caledonian University and Edinburgh Napier University in a bid to deliver two new local television channels in Edinburgh and Glasgow – ETV and GTV.

Ofcom’s deadline for accepting proposals for 21 new local TV stations expired yesterday.

The local TV channels will be delivered to viewers via Freeview. The bids form part of culture secretary Jeremy Hunt’s drive to create local television networks across the UK.
