BBC Pack A Punch For Richard And Judy

It was previously thought that nothing could beat the ratings success of ITV’s This Morning show. A year ago, the BBC had to admit defeat after Richard and Judy fought off Anne and Nick’s Good Morning *Anne And Nick Faces Axe While Richard And Judy Move To London. The BBC, however, did not surrender altogether. After much research into daytime viewing habits, the BBC came back with a new schedule of short lifestyle, consumer and advice programmes.

The BBC is now celebrating, as it enjoys a 2-3 point lead over ITV over total day-time viewing, taken as being from 9am to 3.30pm. Richard and Judy, who had a regular 24 point audience share lead over the BBC last year, have now seen their lead drop to 2.4%. This Morning even trails behind the Beeb for parts of its 80 minutes on-air. Can’t Cook, Won’t Cook regularly takes the lead over ITV in the 10.30 to 11am slot and The Really Useful Show on the BBC is also not far behind This Morning, between 11 and 11.30am.
