Granada Set To Make Move On YTTV

Rumours have re-emerged this morning that Granada is about to mount a takeover of Yorkshire Tyne-Tees Television. If the move took place it would finally end the speculation which has been building for the past year that Granada would increase its stake of over 20% in the ITV broadcaster. In the past Granada appears to have withdrawn from a full takeover bid due to what it regarded as the inflated price of YTTV shares. As the chart below shows however, YTTV shares are currently running at their lowest price for the past ten months.

At 1100am Granada’s shares were up 3p at 891.5p and YTTV was unchanged at 1102.5p.
