Christmas Day TV Viewing

The main battle for audiences during the festive period kicks off on Christmas Eve, with BBC1 showing the premičre of the Disney film The Santa Clause and the action thriller Speed, while ITV opens with its best film of the whole holiday season: Tim Burton’s, Nightmare Before Christmas. BBC2, Channel 4 and Channel 5 all offer a selection of classic films ranging from To Have And Have Not to Annie.

Christmas Day sees BBC1 uping the ante with the premičres of Babe and the remake of Miracle On 34th Street. ITV relies heavily on a collection of specials from Coronation Street, Heartbeat and the Spice Girls. Beeb 2 shows the classic Casablanca, while Channel 4 and 5’s best offerings appear to be Two Way Stretch and Calamity Jane respectively.

Boxing Day sees the movie premičres of Casper and Free Willy 2 on BBC1, while over on ITV there is the premičre of Richie Rich.
