Practical Parenting On Television

IPC Magazines is to have its first masthead programme screened on the cable channel Living, starting from 23 November. The programme is in conjunction with Practical Parenting, and will consist of a series of twelve five minute programmes.

Jayne Marsden, editor in chief at Practical Parenting, commented on the development: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us, it enables the magazine to exist on a different level and attract a whole new audience. The idea behind the programme is, if you like what you see on TV, you can find so much more in the monthly magazine.”

Each episode will include experts on a chosen subject – anything from bringing down a fever to toddler fears.

EMAP, another magazine publisher, recently aired a masthead programme of its men’s title FHM on Channel 5 (see Newsline). Although as the group hasn’t confirmed its plans for the future, it is understood to be planning a continuation of the test programme FHM Preview.
