Mirror And Sun Both To Launch Ents Guides

This Friday The Mirror is to launch a new entertainment listings supplement called A List. On the same day The Sun also launches a similar guide called The Source.

The Mirror‘s A List will replace the paper’s current Screen supplement; it will have double the pages (around 32) and is to be printed on higher quality paper. Its coverage will include music, comedy, clubbing, restaurants, theatre, reviews and general entertainment news.

The launch of A List is part of The Mirror‘s ongoing improvements to the Saturday paper. The A List is to be distributed initially throughout the London and Meridian regions; the rest of the country will continue to receive the Screen Mirror.

Roger Eastoe, deputy managing director of Mirror Group, said: “Following the continued improvement in the Mirror’s sales and readership since the Rejuvenation Programme, the A List is the latest initiative by The Mirror to grow sales and marketing share.”

Between the six month ABC periods Oct 96-Mar 97 and Oct 97-Mar 98, The Mirror‘s circulation has in fact fallen by 81,985 copies, or 3.46%.
