United News and Media has said that its chief operating officer David Arculus will be leaving the company when his contract expires in April 1999.
Arculus has been with United only nine months after he stepped down from EMAP as managing director (subscribers see EMAP Loses Boss To UNM). It is believed that he will join water company Severn Trent as non-executive chairman.
