RAJAR Director To Leave In Spring 2000
RAJAR, the radio audience research body, has confirmed today that its executive director, Peter Jenkins, is to leave the company in April next year. There is currently no replacement for Jenkins and the RAJAR Board is set to meet to discuss this shortly.
Peter Jenkins was appointed as executive director of RAJAR in January 1997 (see New RAJAR Executive Director Named). He is now keen to return to his previous role as an independent research consultant, following the introduction of the new RAJAR research methodology (see RAJAR – The New Methodology Explained). It is understood that due to increases in the number stations in recent years, the RAJAR Board may consider creating a new research director role as well as the executive director replacement for Jenkins.
RAJAR is jointly owned by the Commercial Radio Companies Association (CRCA) and the BBC; advertisers’ interests are represented to the group via the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA).
