New Look For Heat Magazine
EMAP Metro this week unveiled the new look to its weekly listings magazine, Heat. The title has undergone design and editorial changes in what might be the last attempt to boost its circulation to the target level of 100,000 a week. Heat is currently circulating at around 60,000 copies per week.
EMAP chief executive, Kevin Hand, said earlier in the year that if circulation did not reach the target of 100,000 he would be forced to close the magazine rather than waste shareholders’ money (see EMAP’s Heat Given Overhaul After Poor Sales). Heat was one of EMAP Metro’s largest launches, with a £4 million promotional spend.
This week’s issue sees the title’s logo change from orange to red, the interior of the magazine has been redesigned and there is more club and gig information under the review section. The television listings section of the magazine will now run from Thursdays to Wednesdays.
