Top Panel Lined Up For Second Media Question Time
Invites have now gone out for MediaTel Media Question Time in association with The Economist and Carlton Television. The event will take place at the BBC Radio Theatre, W1, on the evening of Monday 28 February 2000 and follows a very successful launch last year (see Newsline).
Media Question Time will be chaired by BBC Radio’s media correspondent, Torin Douglas. Similar in format to the BBC TV series, Media Question Time will focus on key current and future media issues and an invited audience from the advertising and media industry have the opportunity to ask questions from the floor and join the debate.
The panel is packed with media newsmakers as the industry faces up to some hugely significant changes over the coming months and years and comprises:
Richard Eyre – soon to be managing director of Pearson Television, but currently chief executive of the ITV Network.
Hugo Drayton – formerly marketing director of Telegraph Group, newly appointed as managing director of Hollinger Telegraph New Media.
Tom Toumazis – newly appointed director of UK consumer advertising at Emap, with a brief to lead Emap’s cross-selling initiative.
Emily Bell – business editor of the Observer and (until recently) a regular contributor to Media Week, to provide an independent and opinionated view of the industry.
A 5th panellist – a senior agency director is to be confirmed in the next few days.
Numbers are limited. To request an invite please contact Jenny Milton, by email at [email protected] or on 0171 439 7575.
There will be a drinks reception and buffet before and after the main event.
