The ITV Council has temporarily deferred a decision over the future of the News At Ten until it meets with the ITC next week, to examine fully “the differing interpretations of the 1990 Broadcasting Act in relation to the scheduling of the high quality news service to which ITV remains completely committed” (Council statement).
