Giant Monkey Spotted In Leicester Square

ITV have erected a giant full colour banner on the front of the Capital FM building in Leicester Square to coincide with the Gala premier of Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes tonight.

The banner, measuring 22 metres by 15 metres, features the Monkey character from ITV Digital’s current Al and Monkey campaign, dressed in an ape suit.

ITV Digital’s marketing director, Jeremy Dale, said: “The interest in Al and Monkey has been phenomenal and we thought that this would be too good an opportunity to miss. We wanted to allow Monkey to let his hair down and salute the success of his primate cousins.”

The appearance of the banner has been co-ordinated by ITV Digital’s media planners Naked, ad agency Mother and Capital FM.

ITV launched the the Al and Monkey campaign last month (see Comedy Duo Front ONdigital Rebrand), to publicise the rebrand of its troubled pay-TV-platform, ONdigital, to ITV Digital.
