Ministry Launches On FM
![]()
The Ministry of Sound is launching as an FM radio station for the first time in October.
Ministry of Sound Radio, the current digital and internet station, will broadcast on the 87.7 FM frequency as part of a month long trial while an application for a permanent licence is considered.
The station will target a youth audience of 250,000 throughout Central London and will feature non-stop dance music and live club broadcasts. The launch is being promoted with a £300,000 marketing campaign consisting of street posters, billboards, promotional booklets and press ads in Ministry magazine.
Ministry has signed a £100,000 sponsorship deal with Bacardi and plans to raise further revenue through Radioworks, which will sell on air sponsorship and advertising.
NME Radio, a joint venture between IPC Ignite and Virgin Radio, also launched earlier in the month offering listeners a round the clock stream of music via the internet (see IPC Ignite To Launch NME Radio).
