Local Digital Multiplex Licence For Peterborough Up For Grabs
![]()
The Radio Authority will advertise the local digital radio licence for Peterborough next week, in the latest stage of a plan to provide local digital services to the majority of the UK population over the next couple of years.
Applications for the licence, which could deliver digital radio programming and data services to an area with an adult population of up to 350,000, must be submitted between 15 June and 11 September.
The licence will be granted for an initial period of twelve years and a non-refundable fee of £1,000 will accompany each application. When making the award the Authority will consider; how much of the potential coverage area applicant plans to serve, how quickly this will be achieved and to what extent the services proposed will appeal to local tastes and interests. Local support for each proposal will also be a deciding factor and members of the public will have access to each applicants proposed programming plan.
