Unilever has named company veteran Conny Braams as its chief digital and marketing officer, a role newly created as the FMCG giant looks to become “future-fit” and “fully digitised”.
Braams first joined Unilever thirty years ago as business unit director and currently serves as EVP Middle Europe, responsible for the company’s business in DACH, Nordics, Italy and the Benelux.
“Conny Braams is one of our most successful and talented leaders, as well as a highly effective driver of change,” said Alan Jope, CEO at Unilever.
“As our new Chief Digital & Marketing Officer, her experience will be critical to the transformation of Unilever into a future-fit, fully digitised organisation at the leading edge of consumer marketing.”
She will take up her new role on January 1 2020, replacing Keith Weed, who announced his retirement as Unilever’s chief marketing and communications officer last December after nearly a decade in the position.
Unilever’s brands include Dove, Hellman’s, Persil and PG Tips.
