Once again Heat was the success story among the Celebrity/Gossip magazines, with a year on year increase in circulation of 103.4%. IPC’s Now also continues to be a strong contender. It added 10% year on year to its circulation to reach 570,279, continuing to be a serious threat to OK!’s place at the top of this group- that title saw a 11.7% decrease taking it to 575,307.
Meanwhile, the original “celebs and their houses” magazine Hello experienced a 38.5% year on year fall in circulation to 517,883, putting it in Heat’s sights. This loss, and the closure of Celebrity Looks meant that the sector as a whole was down in circulation year on year. However, with the increases at some titles mentioned above, the sector cannot really be said to be cooling off.
