Highbury House Acquires Consumer Titles

Highbury House Communications has acquired three consumer magazines for £325,000.

The consumer and contract publisher has acquired Fast Bikes magazine from Sport Report Limited as well Inspirations For Your Home and Garden and Garden Inspirations from GE Magazines.

Fast Bikes, which is a monthly magazine aimed at “performance minded motorcyclists,” was launched in 1991 and generated revenues of £245,000 during the first six months of 2001. Inspirations For Your Home and Garden and Garden Inspirations are also published monthly and according to Highbury House have a combined circulation of 100,000 per issue.

Announcing the acquisitions the company said: “The board considers that the acquisition of Fast Bikes is an excellent fit with our existing Fast Car brand and that the acquisition of the Inspirations titles will strengthen our position in both home interest and gardening sectors.”

At the end of last year Highbury House acquired Millenium Magazines for £1.5m and Property Mart Magazines, which publishes 3 magazines in the London area, for £5m.
