IPC has announced it is to launch Better Digital Photography as a stand alone monthly magazine.
The title, which was initially trailed as a one-off issue, contains a mix of product reviews and informative, easy-to-follow how-to-guides. The magazine will come with a free CD-Rom offering interactive imaging tutorials./p>
Commenting on the new launch, Alex Robb, publisher of IPC’s photography titles, said: “We believe that none of the existing titles within this sector fully meet the needs of entry level digital camera enthusiasts, and reader & advertiser response to our one shot series blew our socks off. It was therefore an obvious move for us to utilise our vast knowledge and experience in this area to deliver a new and inspiring title aimed specifically at this market.”
Nigel Atherton, editor of IPC’s other title in this sector, What Digital Camera, will also edit the new magazine alongside new deputy editor Cliff Smith who joined IPC in July from competitive title Digital Photography Made Easy to work on the launch.
Better Digital Photography will launch in early August, with a cover price of £2.99. It will be supported by a full marketing campaign including retail promotions and point of sale material.
IPC’s flagship celebrity gossip title, Now, recently launched a national radio advertising campaign to promote its new one-off dieting supplement (see Now Launches Ad Campaign To Support New Supplement).
