Emap Secures Former IPC Ad Director For New Role

Emap Performance has appointed former IPC group ad director for Manchester, Sandra Tinker, to the newly created role of commercial director.

Tinker will be based at Key 103 in Manchester and will be responsible for driving revenue at Emap’s regional and local radio sales teams at the Castle Quay-based flagship radio station. She will work alongside Sue Timson, group sales director for radio, and Tom Hunter, managing director of Key 103.

Tinker commented: “I recognise that the radio landscape is about to change and feel that it is a great time to get back into the industry. Change and challenge has always excited me and I am looking forward to joining the team as soon as possible”

Prior to joining IPC in 1997, Tinker ran her own business selling regional press, BBC titles and radio advertising for Atlantic 252 and all IRS stations. She also worked as a media planner for Saatchi And Saatchi Advertising in London, before moving to Media Solutions in Manchester.

Last month Emap Advertising further boosted its management team with the promotion of sales controller, Zoe Bartlett, to the new position of business director (see Emap Advertising Introduces New Business Director).
