NME Partners Oasis For Covermount Promotion

IPC has secured iconic indie band Oasis to promote the latest issue of music weekly, NME, with the magazine carrying a one-off CD featuring tracks selected by the band, as well as an exclusive live track from Oasis themselves.

Explaining the promotion, Conor McNicholas, editor of NME, said: “It’s great to be able to offer another true magazine event – a covermount CD of the hottest new music chosen by Oasis. They’re the UK’s most popular band so we’re expecting big things from this issue.”

The special CD features 13 somgs by some of the biggest bands around, including Jet, The Zutons, The Futureheads and The Coral. In addition, Oasis’ Noel Gallagher personally reviews each of the bands featured.

McNicolas said: “Getting anything out of Noel and Liam is hard enough so this CD is a real coup. The great thing was, Noel was behind the project from the start.”

The magazine’s special issue, which goes on sale today, also includes a preview of this years’ 10th anniversary V Festival, with features on Scissor Sisters, Franz Ferdinand, Jet and Ian Brown.
