Airey Could Join ITV In Autumn

ITV Logo Dawn Airey is understood to have agreed to join ITV in the Autumn after the broadcaster reached an agreement with her former employer BSkyB over waiving a non-compete clause in her contract.

According to sources, the deal means that Airey will take up a role overseeing ITV’s UK and international production business around six months after leaving Sky.

News broke last week that Airey would be joining ITV following her resignation from TV start-up Iostar (see Dawn Airey Could Join ITV), and Sky and ITV have been in discussions over the clause in her contract since then.

It is understood that senior executives at Sky sign contracts which prevent them from working for a rival UK broadcaster for a year.

However, the fact that Sky has a 17.9% stake in ITV may have helped persuade them to waive the clause in this case.

Airey left Iostar just over a week after starting there owing to concerns about the company’s financial arrangements (see Airey Leaves Iostar).
