ITV.com To Launch New Digital Magazine

Football ITV.com has commissioned Made Up Media, a digital publishing company, to create an online magazine to accompany its football Legends series on ITV4.

The Legends e-zine will be emailed to 300,000 itv.com subscribers and will include a 12 page digital England scrapbook, with features such as WAGs to Pitches and a take on the traditional football sticker book.

The digital magazine will be updated throughout the Legends tournament, which features a team of England football legends from the 80s and 90s playing against Scotland, Germany and Ireland.

Marc Webber, head of content at itv.com, said: “The England Scrapbook is a brilliant way of taking the passion of the Legends as we remember them into the digital age.”

Since the launch of digital-only mag Monkey in November 2006 (see Dennis Launches New Online Lads Mag), several other e-zines have hit users’ inboxes.

Consumer technology magazine Gizmo was launched in March this year (see Dennis Launches Second Digital Only Magazine) and TalkSPORT is set to continue the trend by introducing an online magazine this summer, which will be headed up by the former publisher of Monkey, James Mallinson (see TalkSPORT To Launch Digital Magazine This Summer).

Monkey recently posted an ABCe figure of 942,184 unique users, up by 100,000 year on year (the magazine is delivered via email and this figure takes into account each publication opened).
