ITV1 Dominates Sunday Night’s Ratings

Itv1 ITV1 dominated the ratings on Sunday night, with its prime time shows from 6.30pm to 11pm all pulling in an average adult audience in excess of seven million.

Dancing On Ice managed to lure the highest number of viewers of the night, with Over 7.9 million tuning in for the main programme and over 7.7 million watching the results. This gave the channel a 36.3% share and a 29.7% share for the two programmes respectively.

In between those was the emotional and fiery finale to African vet drama, Wild At Heart. Almost 7.2 million were gripped by the series’ end, giving ITV1 a 29.7% share between 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

Morse spin-off, Lewis, also proved a hit for the channel, with almost 7.3 million sticking with the show throughout its two-hour running time.

Over on BBC One, Orwellian glimpse into the not-so-distance future, The Last Enemy, managed to attract just over 2.3 million (9.7%), whilst earlier the penultimate Lark Rise To Candleford gained over 5.5 million (21.5%).

Coverage of West Brom’s thrashing of Bristol Rovers in the FA cup final quarter-final of the weekend brought more than four million adults on average to BBC One between 6pm and 8pm, whilst the Crufts coverage on BBC Two, between 7pm and 9pm drew almost 3.4 million.

On Saturday, Barnsley’s deserved win over Chelsea in the FA cup attracted almost 6.5 million to BBC One, giving the channel a 34.9% audience share between 5pm and 7.30pm.

Over on ITV1, Harry Hill’s TV Burp lured more than 5.2 million (25.2%), whilst Ant and Dec’s Saturday Take Away gained over 6.2 million (29.7%).
