Independent Radio News is to launch an entertainment news service available to all IR stations. John Perkins, IRN’s managing director, explained that the service comprises pop news from around the world, together with famous dates and celebrity birthdays. The individual stations can pick out the items they want and either use them in their existing programmes, or compile their own entertainment bulletins.
IRN is also bidding for the contract to provide National Network Radio’s entertainment package. This package will include opportunity for advertising and sponsorship.
