EMAP/Hachette Venture Expected To Be Ditched

The joint publishing venture between EMAP and French group Hachette Filipacchi is likely to be discontinued following Hachette’s acquisition of Attic Futura (see Hachette Buys Attic Futura For ), according to reports.

The addition of Attic Futura’s magazines to the Hachette portfolio brings it into competition with the titles published in the UK by the EMAP/Hachette partnership, which include Hachette’s Elle, Elle Decoration and Elle Girl, along with New Woman, Red and Top Santé.

Attic Futura publishes six titles including the market-leading teen title Sugar, the fortnightly gossip magazine Inside Soap and women’s magazine B.

It is expected that Hachette will exit the partnership taking the Elle titles, whilst EMAP retains Red, New Woman and Top Santé.
