WPP Sees UK Revenues Increase

Sir Martin Sorrell’s WPP saw its UK revenues increase by 5% in the first five months of 2008.

The company announced a rise in like for like global revenue growth of 4.5% at its AGM in London.

All regions showed strong revenue growth on a constant currency basis, with the US up almost 7%, while the UK and continental Europe were both up 5%.

Central and Eastern Europe enjoyed revenue growth of almost 21%, while Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East were up almost 18%.

In a statement, WPP said that it is confident for the future, despite commentators’ seemingly unanimous belief that “the world economy is in for a bumpy ride”.
