French Consumer E-Commerce Boomed In November, Says NetValue

Almost three quarters of all domestic internet users in France visited an e-commerce site in November last year, according to figures from NetValue released this month.

NetValue says that 7 million French Net users – 73.4% of the domestic market – accessed online retail sites in the run up to Christmas. In addition, 42.4% performed a purchase transaction via the web. These figures represent a growth in the use of e-commerce sites of 34% over the previous year’s 4.6 million users.

A broader boom in internet retail prior to Christmas was experienced across Europe as a whole, jumping around 40% year on year, according to Jupiter MMXI (see Europeans’ Use Of Retail Sites Jumped 40% In December).
