Tony O’Reilly’s Independent Newspapers yesterday announced a 34% rise in pre- tax profits from I£15.15m to I£20.36m in the six months to June 30, boosted by the first full period from the South African acquisitions.
The results include a one month trading performance from the 43% stake in Newspaper Publishing, publishers of the Independent. Independent Newspapers’ Irish titles have all increased circulation.
