Telegraph Shares

Conrad Black, the Canadian publisher has withdrawn his offer to buy the rest of the Telegraph shares which he originally announced in February. Mr Black was to purchase the 41.5% of shares which he does not already own.

The surprise move came after the board of independent Telegraph directors rejected an offer from American Publishing of Chicago, a subsidiary of Mr Blacks Hollinger group, that owns 58.5% of The Telegraph.
