EMAP have announced profits pre tax profits £63.9m, a leap of 40% from £45.7m in the year to April 1. Turnover rose to £547.1m from £362.9m.
£265m was spent on 38 French magazine titles, the remainder of radio group Trans World Communications and the publishing business of Maclean Hunter.
