Northcliffe’s Plymouth Evening Herald and Gloucester Citizen this month won admittance to the IFRA Colour Club, the international body which sets technical standards for all aspects of newspaper production.
Northcliffe’s titles are the first English newspapers to be admitted to the body. This year there were 71 applications from 22 countries. A spokeswoman at the regional newspaper company said: “This prestigious international award clearly shows the diligence of the teams at both Gloucester and Plymouth, from photographers and advertising sales staff through pre-press, printing and maintenance.”
