HTV and the newly created South West Media Development Agency has announced a £150,000 joint initiative to encourage new film-making talent in the region.
The scheme Western Lights, launched by HTV’s Director of Programmes in Bristol Jeremy Payne and Judith Higginbottom, Director of SWMDA, supercedes the HTV/South West Arts Film Awards, and aims to increase the quality of broadcast drama made in the West, creating ‘a regional voice within television drama.’
