Sony Pictures Television is set to launch a channel in the former Sky slot 157 on 7 April.

The Sony Entertainment Television (SET) brand will target 25 to 54-year-old women with programming such as TNT’s medical drama Hawthorne and comedy My Boys.

“The channel will be dramatic, humorous, engaging, and invite you to relax and escape the challenges of everyday life for a bit,” senior vice president of EMEA Networks, Eddie Nelson, said.

The channel will also feature Sony’s co-produced comedy Huff and the marital comedy ‘Til Death, as well as films including The Da Vinci Code, All the King’s Men and Click, according to Broadcast.

SET will launch in the UK market with a marketing and press campaign featuring the Hawthorne actress Jada Pinkett Smith.
