Johnston Press, following its acquisition of Emap’s regional titles, has moved into the top 5 regional groups in the country, according to Newspaper Society data. Trinity remains in the top position, (based on circulation per week) with over a total group circulation of 8.5 million. Johnston Press, which before the Emap acquisition had 81 weekly titles, now has the most of any regional publisher, 143.
