Chester Chronicle and North Wales Independent Press Limited has awarded its £2.5 million account to Amra, the largest single-buying unit for the regional press. This gives the sales company near saturation coverage throughout the North West and Wales areas and offers media buyers a more cohesive route to these markets.
As TV, radio and national press rationalise their buying points, Amra is aiming to increase its market share and hopes to offer ‘a serious alternative’ to mass market mediums. Previously, Amra, Clacksons and TMS shared the business; the consolidation of the account into Amra is part of the restructuring of the Chester and North Wales groups following Trinity’s purchase of the Thomson regional newspapers late last year.
