From April 14th The Sunday Times will increase its Scottish coverage and build Scottish editorial into the main paper. There will be 12 extra Scottish pages in Main News, Business, Sport and Appointments and a new 12 page broadsheet lifestyle and listings section, Ecosse, which will provide coverage of Scotland’s cultural life.
The Scottish features, business and sport are currently contained in a 32-page tabloid format. The repackaging of this section into a new, expanded broadsheet format and the introduction of Ecosse increases The Sunday Times Scottish coverage by 50%.
A new masthead for The Sunday Times Scotland has been designed and the newly formatted sections will be printed in Scotland (currently only the Scottish section is printed there) allowing for considerably later deadlines.
The Sunday Times Scotland continues its growth: readership figures outstrip those of its rival, Scotland on Sunday, with 307,000 readers against 233,000.
